best way to run my overdrive pedals?
Question: just bought a boss overdrive and boss super overdrive pedal. whats the best way to wire it to my amp. should i put it before the amp or in the effects loop or 1 in each spot. does it matter? Answer: I read somewhere that it is best to put overdrives, volume pedals, compressors, and wahs in front on your amp, and delays, flangers, etc. in your effects loop. Answer: DO NOT PUT THEM IN YOU EFFECTS LOOP that is just a bad idea, pretty much any overdrive I've ever seen explicity warns of their use in effects loops.... Okay, you want them in front of the amp, the one that is less drive most likely before the other, so that you can use it to boost the more 'drivey' pedal hope that helps... What about EQ's? Answer: The EQ can essentially go anywhere, but it can also act as a gain boost before distortion or a volume boost after distortion. Answer: my super overdrive doesnt sound good when used with my overdrive pedal. they each sound great seperate but not good together. i bought the superoverdrive to push the overdrive further for going into leads. would an eq pedal sound better for this? Answer: An EQ pedal would work. It's mainly preference. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
