new amp
Question: Hi everyone! My church needs a new amp but we don't have much $$. We only have $400 singapore which is about US$235 to spend I will be using it for worship. Can anyone suggest an amp ??? Answer: I am thinking of this one is it good? Answer: No one wants to help... Answer: i sugest the blues jr. here the one that you are looking at looks nice. hope i helped ~david~ Answer: my friend has actually used that for leading his worship band a lot. i'd say it's a good choice because apparently, he has no problem with it. best of luck Answer: i would say get a tube amp if at all possible. I'm not sure how much a used Peavey Classic would go for, but that might be something to look into. Perhaps the Blues Jr. as well. Theres nothing wrong with buying used amps....just remember that. If you have $235 then go for a better amp, if possible, tube. Answer: thanks a bunch guys Ok i will consider used tube amp.. beacuse I only have $235 to spend.. Answer: I recently sold my Fender Frontman 25R because I found it to be unsatisfactory for use in church. I didn't like the tone, I thought it buzzed too much for a solid state amp, but most of all, I disliked the uneven shifts in volume when turning the knobs. The amp is quiet until 2, then it gets really loud. I sold the amp to a friend so he could use it for home practice. My new electric guitar amp is a Roland Blues Cube BC-30, which sells at MF for $199 (I got it as a scratch and dent special for $179. I'm quite happy with the amp -- for a few dollars more than the Fender Frontman, it performs very well. It doesn't have fancy amp models or built-in effects, but it has a nice, creamy clean channel and the overdrive channel has all the power I need for worship songs. I wanted an all-purpose workhorse amp and the Blues Cube does the job. Here's the link: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/...se_pid/480007/ You'll have trouble finding a good new tube amp for $235. Also, you'll have to consider the shipping costs to Singapore. A Blues Junior plus shipping to Singapore could cost as much as $500. A Peavey Classic 30 -- $600. You also have the option of scouring Ebay or the local stores for used tube amps, but my recommendation is to do more research on good solid state amps. If you browse through the user reviews in Harmony Central, you'll find many users who are satisfied with their >$250 solid state amps. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
