Answer: Only *$800*?!!? They go new for $2100! Awesome! Answer: Originally Posted by Building429_Boy Only *$800*?!!? They go new for $2100! Awesome! hmm...heres one on eBay for $700...http://cgi.ebay.com/Marshall-1959-SL...QQcmdZViewItem Answer: http://www.zzounds.com/item--MSH1959SLPX (new). That's when you search ebay for stuff. $1300 off. Answer: Are you sure the eBay one is 1959 and not a re-issue or something? The bar-code on the back in the pictures would seem to me to indicate that the head was made a while after 1959...? Nate Answer: plus with the shipping and insurance i wouldve paid close to 800 anyway. either way, im stoked about it. i have an audition coming up so hopefully ill be able to get the sound i want out of it before then. adam Answer: the new one he posted is a re issue too. but yeah theyre reissues. the 1959 is just part of the name the 50 watt version is the 1987x. The bar-code on the back in the pictures would seem to me to indicate that the head was made a while after 1959...? Nate generally (as ehyd already noted) I don't believe any 1959 SLP amps were actually made in 1959...at least not the "famous" ones (which were late 60s/early 70s). that being said, I've never seen any from that era for sale. Answer: aw man, that is tight! I have seen those, but never played one. Is it high gain Answer: well lets put it this way with the volume at 1 it is about as loud as my jcm800 at 6. if i just plug straight in and play there is way too much head room. but if i bridge the 1 and 2 channels together. the gain is so sweet. it is very full and crunchy. im lovin it. adam Answer: dude you got an awesome deal!! Answer: New stuff is a ripoff. Congrats! Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
