VS Workhorse Amps
Question: Has anyone seen these around? I haven't been able to find a price on them, but they say they you will get a free J&H Pedal with purchase. Here's the link: http://visualsound.net/Amps_wh.htm Answer: A free Jekyll & Hyde is always good! Answer: That's not what I was asking... I looked a bit more and YIKES! No wonder they are giving away a free pedal! Due to hit the marketplace this fall, the Workhorse amps (including Jekyll & Hyde pedal) will list as follows: Pony, $775; Mustang, $1,025; and Stallion, $1,250. Answer: Holy cow! It would probably be more worth it to just buy the pedal by itself. Answer: Originally Posted by Building429_Boy That's not what I was asking... I looked a bit more and YIKES! Yeah i know those were cad drawings, but they just looked messed up with the speaker. Answer: Well, I was expecting it to be in the $300-400 range.. But the "hub cap" speaker is supposed to radiate the sound a full 180 degrees, so it can be heard from all sides, I believe. The speakers are a new technology developed by VS. Also, a list price of $775 puts it in the same price range as a Fender HR Deluxe (which lists at $850). Just as a comparison, the J&H lists at $186.95 and sells in MF for $139.99, which is a markdown of about 25% (it's 74.88% of list). Thus, with a similar markdown on a $775 product you can expect the price to be about $580 new. Honestly...I think the hub-cap look is pretty rad...but I'd expect them to add a grille cloth before it's all said and done. Answer: Originally Posted by thesteve I believe you are correct sir. On the site, the listing price is.. say "$999" but go on MF and get it for $700. I really like the speaker design as well. It could be a contender for a new amp a few years down the road. Answer: They definitly look interesting. If the new speaker technology works, then I would love to get my hands on one. (I am an engineering major after all...) And yes, those are definitly AutoCAD or Solidworks models of the amps. They are likely still in the design stage. Answer: Originally Posted by PianoMan (I am an engineering major after all...)
