(this is your cue any moderater) Answer: oh yeah, Danelectro pedals are good bang-for-buck pedals if you are looking for something cheap. If you are willing to spend more money, go for boss or something. Answer: What sound are you looking for? A good overdriven tone? Some cool effect to give your guitar? .... Answer: #1 This needs moved #2 We need specifics to give recommendations... Wah, Flanger, Phaser, Distortion, Overdrive, Delay (echo), Reverb, Compressor...Which ones? Wah, Flanger, Phaser, Distortion, Overdrive, Delay (echo), Reverb, Compressor...Which ones? #1) it's 6:16 right now...9:16 on the East Coast...i wish I was still asleep and not moving this thread though how i missed it for the first 6 hours it was here... #2) that's spot on...it's hard to recommend something when no one knows what you want, or what you want to use it for. Answer: Get a tuner Answer: Originally Posted by JsChoi hey, im pretty new with my guitar and im starting to pick up pedals. i dont want the multieffects are there any types of pedals that anyone could recommend well i don't know what it is you want..but if your looking for the heaviest, meanest, bloodiest distortion out there for a good price..go with the DOD FX86 Death Metal Distortion Pedel. This thing is sick...heavy, grundy, you could kill someone with the sound . its really cheap too... -chester Answer: Originally Posted by JsChoi are there any types of pedals that anyone could recommend No. We have no idea what you want. Everything tends to be subjective. Answer: I'll try to offer some helpful advice...I could probably guess why you're not going the multieffects route, but since you're starting out, give them a fair chance as well. As you do your research on the products you may realize what your needs really are and may end up changing your mind about multieffects. First, do your homework. Find out what the different kinds of effects do by doing a search on google. There's lots of webpages that tell you how certain effects are produced and it may give you a direction as to what effects you might be interested in. Then, go to websites that have sound clips of pedals like musiciansfriend.com. You'll get a feel for the types of effects and the sounds that each brand makes. The hardest part is choosing which company to go with...and it's what makes your wallet hurt the most!! Buying pedals and then exchanging them out..it's all part of the process but it's definitely fun too. There's so many companies to choose from and each have their benefits. They all range from the mass produced like DOD, boss, Danelectro to the boutique like Analogman, Fulltone, Homebrew, and Foxrox. That's only to name a few. Good luck and do your research! Patience will defintely pay off. Answer: oh, and people usually start out with effects like... overdrive/distortion chorus delay/echo Answer: My advice to newbies is get a cheap multi off ebay. A zoom 505 will only cost £30 or less. Play with the individual FX to see the sound shape tha you like, then go buy Boss pedals (after selling one of your kidneys) then you can sell on the zoom and you've only lost out on the cost of postage Answer: i half agree with you. The zoom was my first pedal, but I didn't care for it to much. Now it is my tuner. Answer: I can relate to people who dont want multi-effects . . . but they are useful for determining what effects (and combinations of effects) you would likely use. So I would say, BORROW a multi-effects, spend some time with it, and determine what features you like. Or, if you prefer, spend some time at the music store, with the pedal rack where you can try all the pedals. Answer: Now THERE you go. Barrowing a multi effect is a really good idea Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
