help! trying to fix broken bass amp myself.

Question:
i wonder if anyone out there might be able to help me.
my fender bxr 300c bass amp was left at a friends house and
these strangers used it and now its broken. my band hasn't played
in 2 months. it makes a loud buzzing sound when i turn it on. i even turned the volume down and it still made it. i've been taking it apart, but i don't know whats wrong with it. is it the speaker, do amps have fuses? or is this something much more complicated? if anyone has any info at all that could help me out i'd appreciate it. i'm mega poor and don't think i could afford the music store guy's fix it price. thanks fellow musicians.
the bass dude.

the bass dude. first check all the wires and make sure that there isn't any sorts and that they all have good connection. You might also PM majortom for he is very wise when it comes to fixing amps and he wil probably post in here if he gets time.
Answer:
sounds like a bad solder joint or maybe a lack of grounding.
Answer:
i've tried switching another 8 ohms speaker and it still makes that loud buzzing sound. when i plug my bass in, it will play but sounds garbled and distorted and gross. the fuse looks ok. and the wiring looks okay i think.
if anyone has any suggestions, i would appriciate it. thanks dudes.
