J&H vs. Modded TS9

Question:
Alrighty I got a question. As a lot of you know, I'm going to get an OD pedal for Christmas and I'm looking at the following:
Jekyl & Hyde OD
or
TS9 modded by Robert Keeley
I'm looking for a smooth OD sound for solos + a good sound for worship music - Sound that is a good amount of overdrive, but acceptable in church.
I don't need a huge amount of versatility, which I know the J&H has, which is good. I just want people's opinions on which one is better for the sound I'm looking for, or better for the price.
I think the J&H is $130-140 and the Modded TS9 is anywhere from $140-$170.
Answer:
i don't the modded ts9 could possibly be as versatile as the J+H (which is less expensive anyway), which i think will definitely fit all your criteria. i think it would be perfect. if i had to play electric @ church and i could take only one OD/DS box, i would take the J+H, at least out of all the ones i've played.
Answer:
I would go for J&H. I've had good experiences with them. Even better when i modded my old (silver) version.
Answer:
well when you really think about it, the J side of the J&H is a modded TS-808 circuit...
Answer:
J & H. I love mine, and if you get the newer (red) model, then you will have one that fixes my only gripe with my older silver model - slight lack of bass response in the OD side. And as said, the OD side is the exact same as a TS-808 (as Visual Sound is reproducing the chips originally used and using the same circuit) so you will get that same sound. Not to mention that it is cheaper and you get the distortion side as an extra. No contest in my opinion.
Answer:
I'm looking at the J&H and the Route 66 and they both have 2 channels which is so cool. Maybe the Route 66 would be better, but I already have a compressor. I'm leaning toward the J&H since it is more versatile and is cheaper than a Robert Keeley mod.

the Red version of the J&H was the result of modders like Robert Keeley and Bryan at Indyguitarist.com who were modding J&Hs (silver version) with better components and a bass boost. Bob Weir (J&H) decided to start building the new J&H models with upgraded parts and a bass boost switch.
Answer:
Yeah, The Route 66 is just the OD side of the J&H combined with a compressor. Seeing as you already have a sweet compressor (if I do say so myself ) I would just go for the J&H.
Answer:
Sweet. I just got a postcard in the mail from GC today:
"This Friday, from 8-10AM save an extra 10% on anything in the store..."
If only they actually carried good stuff like the J&H. I'm gonna call and see if it applies to MusiciansFriend... Hehe.. Because they sell it there.
Thanks guys.
Answer:
Another question. Are the two channels divided by the 2 sides?
Say, could I have both channels on the Hyde but the next day have both on Jekyll or are they one on Jekyll, one Hyde? I'm guessing it's the latter.
EDIT: Are the knobs durable? They don't look too durable in the photos.

Answer:
Let me rephrase, sorry I must have not been clear.
Does each one have it's own footswitch or are the footswitches programmable?
Probably not programmable since it isn't digital... But that would be cool.
Answer:
Still not quite sure i'm answering the right question, but the left footswitch is for the Jekyll (OD) side and the right for the Hyde (distortion) side.
Answer:
Yep that's it. Thanks.
Can you have both on at same time?

you can have J, H, or J&H.
it's actually cool like this. with my HRdlx + J&H I have twelve different gain levels just by pushing footswitches. it's like this:
Clean
Clean + J
Clean + H
Clean + J + H
(repeat two more times, once for each "drive' channel)
