Umm... Well, why did you buy the Boss ME-50 if you weren't going to use it? It depends on the sound you want.. Play with both of them and see what you like.

Like Ryan said, it's subjective. That boss has about a million combos you can use, and it all depends on what you're looking to hear. Read the manual and then start playing with the combos and see what you get.

my other advice is to use them both and let your ears decide which is better...they might even sound best when used at the same time.

I like cruddy fuzz distortion... Almost as much as I like a high-end tube amp's distortion channel. Almost, but not quite.
