Hello, Saturday i ordered my Peavey Valveking tube amp. Im not getting it till christmas though. Yes its a christams present. I mainly play metal and hardcore type music. Do yall think that was a wise choice. Im also gona probably get a line 6 uber metal distortion pedal to make it sound heavier if i dont like the distortion.

Rather than that distortion pedal though, you may look into something with a little less gain, or even an EQ pedal (which can be used to drive the amp harder). I believe that originally, most distortion pedals weren't meant to be distortion pedals in and of themselves, but rather to push the amp itself into distortion.
