Buying New Delay Pedal

Question:
Ok, I'm gonna buy a delay pedal this weekend. Right now I'm looking at the BOSS dd-6, the DD-3 and The Danelectro Dan-Echo. I like the the DD-6 for the longer delay times, the DD-3 has most of the features as the DD-6 but no tap tempo and slightly shorter delay times, it is $50 cheaper though. The Dan-Echo has less features all together but has the hi cut control and sounds a bit warmer, plus I can get it used for $40.
So I want to know all of your oppinions and if there's something I've missed that would be better? I want to spend less than $200 on this pedal.
Answer:
have you checked out the digitech delay?
Answer:
The Line 6 Echo Park. 150 bucks, tap tempo, etc. Fantastic sound. I have one, and so does Mattlock. I know he would also highly reccomend the pedal.

-Nick I was thinking about that one, I just haven't had a chance to check it out. Does it have a hold function the the boss pedals?

What's the hold function do?

You press down and create a short loop (up to 5 seconds on the DD-6) and that plays back, and you play over it. It goes until you turn itoff I think. At least that's how I understand it. Not sure how much I'd use it, but I really like layering things live.

You'd have to step up to the DM-whatchacallit to get that feature from Line6. I don't know how usable the Boss hold feature is, 5 seconds isn't very much time.

Very true, I haven't had much chance to test that out either. What's the longest delay time you can get on the Echo Park? and how's the noise level?

yeah, the x-series
one of my friends owns one and i've played through it
i didn't notice any noise, but i wasn't too thrilled for the pedal itself
Answer:
i've owned a Dano PB&J, a Digitech XDD and a BOSS DD-5.
I still have the PB&J and i actually got my DD-5 by trading away my XDD. I really like the external tap of the DD-5 far more than the built-in tap of the XDD.
as far as sound quality goes, the PB&J kills both of them, but as it's not as functional as the DD-5, the DD-5 gets far more use (i really like that tap tempo).
Answer:
I would highly recommend the Boss DD-20. I believe I got it for around 150-160$ (don't hold me to that though). Besides having more settings then the DD-6, it has 2 pedals, 5 built in memory settings, and 21 seconds for the hold mode that you mentioned. Sounds great, is easy to use, and is very durable.

looks like good stuff
Answer:
Dano all the way baby! lol. Dan-echo? Why not go with a PB & J Delay?
Answer:
For about $120, you can get a used Boss DD-5 usually with a footswich for tap tempo. It really is a great dealy, very straight forward. It doesn't have some of the cool features the others have, but it is still very nice. One of the best pedals I've owned, and I'd call it my 2nd or 3rd favorite delay I've owned.
