I want a pedal (continued)
Question: I was thinking about getting an "Alesis GuitarFX 24-Bit Multi-FX Guitar Processor" i found one for $70. I was wondering what you guys though about it. P.S. how do you pronounce Alesis? Is it like...Uh-lee-sis? Answer: In short...don't do it. Remember that with guitar gear, you get what you pay for. On top of that, Alesis is among the lowest quality effects manufactors out there. In short...it will sound like crap. If you absolutely must have a pedal in this price range, then go with a single effect of decent quality. Answer: how about these http://www.zzounds.com/item--ZOMGFX5 http://www.zzounds.com/item--KORAX1500G Answer: i dont' know much about that Zoom multi, but i've heard decent report on the Korg one. If you want want truly good sounding stuff, you will have to spend some serious money. The stuff listed above is pretty good (the Korg would be the best bet) and the Boss multieffects would be pretty good. As I said though, I would recommend skipping the multieffects and just getting 1-2 pedals of good quality. They would be much more useful in the long run. I know, i know, oh boy do i know its the BOSS DD-5: Dunlop Crybaby: Visual Sound Jekyll & Hyde: Boss TU-2. Right. Am i right close. i dont' use the Crybaby anymore because it's sorta not working...haha. i'll probably replace it soon. the other three are correct, and i throw my Tuna Melt Tremelo in there sometimes as well. Answer: quick question....which effect would be closest to lead: Acoustic Classic comp Tube od Classic dist Fat dist Metal dist Seattle Big fuzz Top boost Us hi-gain Brit stack sorry if this question is stupid.........i'm just new to this stuff Answer: do you mean which would be the best for boosting solos? I would say the tube OD or the top boost...probably the top boost. I use the "Jekyll" side of my J&H with the gain turned down and the volume up to get a very clean boost for clean lead work. Answer: if ur looking for a steve via sound i was reading an article and he said most of the songs he does he uses the boss distoortion and a ibanez tube screamer and msot of the time's he uses both at the same time. That being said, Steve Vai is also known for using his Boss DS-1s, though I think they are modified.
