Need advice from any current/former Arion users

Question:
I'm thinking about buying some Arion effects. I played the distortion at my local dealer but thats all they had was distortion.
These effects are so dang cheap yet the distortion was what i was looking for...is there a catch? Do they break down after a month? How do the other effects sound? (Mainly Digital Delay, Phaser, and Compression, if they have a compression).
Answer:
well the cases are plastic. from what i've heard, these effects aren't horrible, but they aren't great. some dealers will let you buy gear and return it if you don't like them...you may look into this.
Answer:
they are poorly made (i opened my octive up and the soldering was absolutely terrible)
they sound terrible (it farted out octives...like an actual flatulating sound and then if you listen really hard you'll hear the other octive coming through)
the casing is plastic (real easy to break apart)
it's not worth the pain of spending money on a pedal for the fraction of the price that is a fraction of the quality that pedals are supposed to be
Answer:
I've had two of the early SCH-1 choruses (a black/grey one and a green/grey one) and they both worked perfectly. I've got a newer SCH-z that hasn't given me any problems after two years. I love the chorus. Havn't tried the others though.
Answer:
Basically the catch is that in 3 to 60 months you will realize it actually doesn’t sound as good as you thought. I have never heard one myself but that is my experience with buying the cheaper stuff.
That being said I have an Arion Stage tuner. It’s not as cool as some of the newer tuners but I have had it for almost 15 years; it was the first tuner I bought. About 12 years ago I had to open it up and re-solder the battery wire but other then that the thing just won’t quit.
