Wah Pedals
Question: There are two wah pedals down at my local pawn shop, a Crybaby for $109 AU and a brand that I haven't heard of before for $69. For those who are wondering, $109AU is about $83US. $69 is about $53US. With this information in mind, I have two questions. How much would be a fair price for the both pedals (eg how much should I talk them down for it?)? Also, I have an old DOD FX65 Stereo Chorus which I don't need (because I have a V-amp and I don't like the effect anyway) which I could trade in. If I traded it in, how much should I get for it? And how much should I pay for either Wah pedal with the trade in of the DOD? Answer: a new Dunlop CryBaby model GCB-95 is $70 USD brand new in Musicians Friend. what's the brand of the "never heard of" wah? Answer: What Crybaby model is it? There are several. -Nick Answer: I don't know what brand the random one is, I'll check tomorrow when I go and try them out. I'm not sure what model the Crybaby is. It would appear to be a standard one as it doesn't have any knobs or switches, but there's no box or anything to say. Answer: I got my standard crybaby for $20 and it works great (maybe a little scratchy). I don't see why you should pay any more than $40-$50 for a standard crybaby, and that's in mint condition. It would be good to know what kind of wah the other one is. If it's some cheap knock off, then no reason to worry about it. If say it was a Budda, Teese, or Z-vex, then that would be an amazing deal and you should snatch it up as soon as possible. As for the DOD chorus, it's been a while since I got rid of mine, but I think I got it and sold it in the $20 range, but I'm not sure. It was pretty cheap. Check ebay for prices. Answer: I paid 90 bucks for my Mr. Crybaby. Brand new. I'm about to buy a Zakk Wylde model for around 120 bucks. Answer: I just went and tried one random one (it was a Proel), it sounded decent, but I wasn't using any of my own gear so it was hard to tell. In typical Cash Converters style, they didn't have a battery for the Crybaby and the adapter they gave me to try it with didn't work. It was a Crybaby original. I might see if I can trade in my old DOD Chorus and $20 for the Proel wah or something like that. I'll get the Crybaby if I can talk them down to under $55 with the trade in. Any reason not to go eBay? You'll find a crybaby for that much at least, if not cheaper, and then you got the other pedal still to sell and make a few bucks. Answer: I doubt I'll find an Australian seller that sells it for that price, they all go over 100. Buying from the US sucks with shipping for something heavy like a Crybaby. Answer: Close this thread. I'm putting the money towards an E-bow now. Thanks for the help. Answer: Generally we let these threads fade into oblivion rather then close them. Answer: Yet...if that is what you want... Closed. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
