wah pedal placement...
Question: hey, i just recently aquired the crybaby classic wah pedal, and I am trying to figure out where to place it...I don't have a lot of choices, really, I have an effects loop with my DigiTech RP-100 running through that, and I wasn't sure whether or not I should put my wah pedal in the loop or else run it before the signal even enters the amp. I tried it both ways, and i think i like the latter. I really just want to know how everyone else does it. thanks, -sniff- Answer: Originally Posted by sniff hey, i just recently aquired the crybaby classic wah pedal, and I am trying to figure out where to place it...I don't have a lot of choices, really, I have an effects loop with my DigiTech RP-100 running through that, and I wasn't sure whether or not I should put my wah pedal in the loop or else run it before the signal even enters the amp. I'm not sure if that applies to multi-effects or not. -Nick Answer: you should do it however you like it. i know a guy who runs it next to last (his ProCo Rat is last). Traditionally the wah goes first, but i don't think it's for buffering reasons as alot of wahs are tone suckers. i run mine first so that every pedal as it is already receiving a frequency shifted signal. Answer: I like my wah pedals after overdrive and modulation, and befor delay and reverb. Although in his case, it might be a little hard due to the multi-effect. Answer: Originally Posted by guitarfreak217 I was about to say that. I like my wah to affect the echos of my delay, but since he's using multi-effects, after may be a better technical position. But like Steve said, it's all up to ear. -Nick Answer: If I had two, I'd just put one before, and one after. I only have one, so I put it before. Main reason- Less cables.
