Jaco Pastorius

Question:
Does anybody know what kind of speakers and amps Jaco Pastorius used?
I think he used an accoustic 360 amp, but I dont know for sure (and I still know nothign about the speakers)
Answer:
From his prime Weather Report years (from a show at the Hollywood Bowl):
Acoustic 360 Head with two 361 Cabinets
Two Acoustic 330 Heads with two Acoustic 408 Cabinets
An MXR Digital Delay (blue face), and maybe a Boss Octave pedal.
The 361 cabs are powered 1x18"'s in a folded cabinet. The 360 "head" is really just a preamp. The 408 cabs are 4x15" cabs.
Answer:
In 1979 I saw Weather Report at the Tower Theater in Philadelphia with about 3000 other people. I was dumbfounded. No doubt the greatest display of virtuosity I've ever personally witnessed.

A preamp shapes your sound, ie it boosts the bass frequencies, or cuts your highs, all that good stuff. It helps you get your sound, and not just the sound of your bass.
Your signal goes through the preamp, then goes into the power amp, where it is amplified. From there it leaves, via a speaker cable, and this powered signal drives your speakers, and voila you have sound.
