vox or fender
Question: i thought for sure i would get a vox but i have been thinking would you get a Vox 120vtx neo dog combo and vc12 footcontroller for a total of $ 1479 or a fender hot rod deville 60 watts of tube power for$799 or a fender twin amp 100 watts all tube power for $1189 which would you get? and money is not a problem Answer: Off topic - so do you play a Wes Paul? The reason for this is my youngest son's name is Wesley too (middle name Paul, after the apostle) and I named my Les Paul.........you guessed it - Wes Paul! I'm not aware if I have heard that particular Vox amp, but the Vox amps I've heard are very impressive. Have you been able to A/B them? What are your musical preferences since they do have different characteristics? Answer: my middle name is wesley my full name is chrsitopher wesley garner but i like stuff like switchfoot to mayer to alan jackson i want an amp that is very versitle Answer: Originally Posted by wesley7777 my middle name is wesley my full name is chrsitopher wesley garner but i like stuff like switchfoot to mayer to alan jackson i want an amp that is very versitle Okay, so a Christopher Wes Paul (please forgive me - I'm just being stupid here). See the attached link to some reviews on Harmony Central: http://www.harmony-central.com/Guita..._Combo-01.html The reviews are mixed, so it looks like there are some issues here. Please read carefully. Plus, it's a modeling amp with more effects than you will end up using. I'm solidly in the tube amp camp, so I'm not sold on these types of amps anymore. Plus, if you like Alan Jackson (my personal favorite Country guy) I would suggest you go with the Fender Twin. By the way, what's your venue? The Twin's a fairly heavy amp and there might be some other options. Answer: yes i have heard that that vox amp has had problems with turning on and sound coming out Answer: or what do you think about mesa and could you recomend one with about the same watts all tube combo Answer: i have a 40 watt combo amp, and it is plenty loud for everywhere i play. At my youth stuff of about 200 people, i usually only play it on about 4-6/10 volume....Tube is automatically louder than solid state. Answer: i need the watts though Answer: Originally Posted by wesley7777 and money is not a problem i envy u... Answer: 2 years of saving has allowed me to det to that point Answer: well Wesley. This is an option more than anything on your list. But I think the most versatile amp ever made would be the Mesa Road King. Literally 12 amplifiers in one. This ain't no modeling baby. The actual tube circuitry of 12 different amps. I'd recommend the 2x12" combo, which I think you can get for $2500-$2800. Case Answer: that mesa is one super nice amp Answer: were online can you buy mesa amps Answer: To my knowledge, it's pretty hard to find a place online to buy Mesa gear, unless maybe you could buy direct from them. You won't find them on musicians friend though, thats for sure. My suggestion is to look on eBay or go to Guitar Center (but try and get an amp thats not a floor model). If you absolutely want it new, you won't find a better price anywhere since Mesa won't let retailers drop the price at all from what they set. So the only way to get a good deal is to go used. If you want sweet Vox tone though, go for an AC30. Those are some sweet amps. You can find some easily between $1000-$2000 used, depending on the speakers you choose (alnico blues or greenbacks). Answer: the ac30 are very nice isn't the greenback speakers suppose to be better? i forgot which was better Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
