Quick Distortion / Overdrive Question
Question: Hi guys. I recently bought an Ibanez DS7 distortion pedal. however, i'm afraid that it might be a little bit too hardcore for our normal sunday worships. the songs that we play are the starfield, chris tomlin, matt redman, hillsongs, kind of songs. i'm debating whether to return this and get the Ibanez Tube Screamer 9, but i don't know what to do. does this distortion pad have any place in our worship? thanks a lot. Roboy, I would reccomend getting the TS9.The DS7 is distortion, which is usually out of place during worship. The TS9 is a overdrive pedal. Much more mellow sounding, less gain, and better suited for worship. As a sidenote, what kind of amp do you have? -Nick Answer: i'm pretty sure it's some no-name brand. i'll go check tommorow. Just wanted to check, because some amps have overdrive that sound better than pedals (i.e. tube amps). -Nick Answer: Originally Posted by Only Alive Roboy, I would reccomend getting the TS9.The DS7 is distortion, which is usually out of place during worship. Answer: I have the Ibanez DS7.. i use it for worship a couple of times.. it works fine because i felt that its not really a distortion its more of overdrive or just mild distortion.. it works fine for worship.. but seriously the sound isnt impressive.. its pretty plain n harsh.. i too recommend to get TS9 if u have extra $$.. Hope this helps! Answer: oh okay. thanks for the input. but one last question. which tube screamer model is the best? Answer: Originally Posted by robOy oh okay. thanks for the input. but one last question. which tube screamer model is the best? Obviuosly the re-issue. But they are litteraly amillion tube screamer models by Ibanez. Answer: Originally Posted by smashing guitar Obviuosly the re-issue. (btw- most of that stuff is clean to begin with), and Only Alive.. you're post is hard to follow... Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
