GSP 21 Legend

Question:
So there's this guy at my dad's work and he says he has a really cool multi effects thing he's selling so my dad offered to take if for the weekend to see if I liked it. It's called a Digitech GSP 21 LEGEND and the guy also said that he bought it for like 700 bucks so I figured it must be pretty good. I was playing around with it, it sounds pretty cool...and I just wanted your guys opinions? He'll sell it to me for a hundred bucks. Good deal or could I get something better? What I really want is an awesome distortion pedal like the Jekyll and Hyde..what do you guys think?
Answer:
I've run across a bunch of these things lately, $100 seems about right. I've been close to picking one up myself. It's early-mid '90's technology, single rack space with a footcontroller. The Manual is avalible at DigiTech's website. Based on my experiance with other units from that era, the distortions and overdrives won't be that great, a few useful things, more "industral" then "rootsy." The modulation and delay effects are usually pretty good, if not very "digital" sounding. Reverbs are usually pretty good, though they tend not to be as clean as modern reverb units.
All I can say is try it.
