Loopers?
Question: What do they do? And what are some useful uses? Answer: As in something that lets you record a riff or chord progression on the fly and then play over it? Answer: Originally Posted by guitarfreak217 As in something that lets you record a riff or chord progression on the fly and then play over it? Yeah. My Boss DD-20 delay has a mode for doing this. Great for when you are playing solo. For a great example of its use, check out Phil Keaggy's stuff. Do a search and I think you can find a live video of him playing solo and using one of these. It should be in the guitar forum. Answer: Yeah, in the amazing guitar videos thread. Freaking amazing. A DD-20 has the ability to loop? Sweet. Answer: Or do you mean a Loooper? Ben Answer: My guitar teacher has a Boss RC-20XL Loop Station I think it's called. Anyways, it lets you record little chord progressions and then play lead over it. Pretty awesome. It's kinda hard to stop at the right place, but other than that, it's a sweet practice tool. Answer: No no no. I mean like a looper that you can like...Uh...you can get certain pedals out of your chain, with the looper, and like you can put them back in by a stomp on the ol' looper. Or do I know what I'm talking about? Answer: Originally Posted by smashing guitar No no no. Or do I know what I'm talking about? You do, I thought that was what you meant Check out Loooper for examples of loopers. They are useful because they remove unnecessary pedals from your chain, therefore also eliminating any tone coloration that they might be responsible for.
