WTB: 12 string A/E

Question:
So I'm thinking about adding a 12 to my collection. It's been a long time since I've played one seriously, and my hope is that they have improved. There are times when the sound would work very nicely in the worship mix.

So what guitars are really great? What would you avoid? Price must be under $1K US, with the HSC.
Answer:
i have and old 1980's Alvarez 12str acoustic, and really like it.
well 12str electric Rick's are great, but what to stay away from
is a bad setup when you first pick it up and take a good look at the neck.

Have you ever heard of ventura guitars? They made them in the 70s and were an offshoot company of Takamanie, from what I have read. I have one that is over 20 years old. They don't make them anymore, but you can find them on ebay. They are designed in the U.S and made in Japan. I can only say, that I will NEVER get rid of mine....unless it was for a high end martin or Taylor or another ventura 12 string.
Answer:
The only 12-strings I've been very impressed with were Martins and Taylors. YMMV.
