This thing is basically a cd player that has a jack to plug in your guitar and then an output to headphones. It lets you play along with your favorite cds. But the best part is all the stuff that you can make it do. You can slow down a song by up to 50% (or speed up by up to 16%) and not lose the pitch. You can also change the key of a song by plur or minus 6 half steps. You can do a split monitor, so that you hear the cd in one ear of your headphones and your guitar in the other ear. You can make it loop one part of a song over and over to learn it. You can even filter out different frequency ranges and stereo regions so that you hear only what you want to hear (I usually use it to filter out all but the guitar part so I can hear it easier). It also has 57 built-in, fully customizable effects, a metronome, and a tuner.
I can't get enough of this thing! It's helped me learn so many songs that I always wanted to learn, but couldn't quite figure out because it went too fast or the guitars got drowned out by other parts. And at $150, its relatively inexpensive, considering what it can do.
