Multi Effects Pedal

Question:
I'm looking into buying my first multi effects pedal...I'm looking to spend at the most $150, so of course I'm not looking for something that's astronomically awesome, it just needs to be something that will last me until I am experienced with different effects and sounds and in the meantime can belt out some metal riffs. A chromatic tuner is definitely a plus, almost essential. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Answer:
umm new i'm a fan of the digitech series. you may or may not be able to find a GNX1 for that much. alternately keep your eyes open for an rp-2000. tack another $50 onto that and you can get a pod 2.0. havent used one but considered it before going with digitech way back when.
Answer:
Look for a used Boss GT-3 or GT-5
Answer:
Zoom GFX series they are absolutely amazing with their price especially gfx5

Thank you for the replies
I went to the store yesterday and bought a DigiTech RP-50 for $80. I asked the guy there what pedal I should get in order to get used to all the different effects and how to use a pedal, and he pointed me to that one. In the future I imagine I will be getting a better one, but this one will do for a while. I am impressed with it, actually.
I also bought a Boss chromatic tuner for $40 only to find out that my pedal had an even easier-to-use chromatic tuner in it. So, I will have to return the tuner
Now I have another question: I noticed that you can hook up headphones to the output of the pedal, and don't even have to run it through an amp. Does this mean I can buy a speaker instead of an amp and just hook it up to the speaker and it still work with the same sound quality?

The headphone out on the RP-50 is not designed with speaker emulation like the output on some speakers so you will likely get a very harsh digital tone. Also the output is designed to be colored by the guitar amp, the RP-50 is effects and amp styled distortion but not a like a POD. A third reason is that well you can't just buy "a speaker" though you may know this an amp wouldn't really be much more expensive if it all than a monitor speaker and power amp.
