Guitar Into Keyboard Amp

Question:
Alright, my friend is currently amp-less and he doesn't have an acoustic, but we need to practice for something tommorow at school. The only amp they have is a keyboard amp. What would happen if he plugged into that sucker? All I know is that it's a Peavey amp.

Answer:
Shouldn't be a problem. The amp I use at school (at least at one band rehearsal) is a Roland Keyboard amp and it works fine. I actually like the tone out of that a LOT better than the guitar amp we have. So, my guess is that it shouldn't make a difference.
Answer:
Ah, thanks man. I was just making sure he wouldn't blow it out or something.

no, nothing will get blown up... (unless there is simply something wrong with the amp).
guitar amps, bass amps, keyboard amps, PA systems, sterio systems, etc... they all accept line-level signals. as long as your plugging in a line-level signal (guitar/bass/cd player/whatever), there won't be any techincal problems.
when i first read the title, i thought 'yuck'. the only problem you might have is the tone. it will be like plugging into a PA system (which is pretty much what keyboard amps are... a PA in a combo.)
Answer:
Acoustic guitars generally sound decent through keyboard amplifiers, provided the right EQ is dialed in.

aye...in fact Peavey used to sell their KB and KB/A amps for three purposes, keyboard, bass, and acoustic (hence KB/A). The reason being that the amp was supposed to have a decent amount of headroom and a rather sterile tone overall.
Answer:
You can plug guitars into all sorts of amps. I usually use a bass amp when I play at school.
Answer:
The only combination I get truly offensive tone from is when I plug the acoustic guitar into the preamp section of my Mesa/Boogie Studio .22 (designed for electric guitar tone). If I bypass the preamp section and go straight to the power section and the loudspeaker, it's not too bad. It's just that the real "jangly" sound is harder to get.
