New Rig of Doom purchased today...
Question: Here it is, picked up the whole shooting match today: Guitar ---> Rocktron Wah ---> Rocktron Banshee Talkbox ---> Rocktron Vendetta 100w all-tube head (effects send)---> Digitech DHP33 Harmonizer ---> Rocktron Xpression Effects Processor ---> Rocktron Vendetta (effects return) ---> Rocktron Vendetta 4x12" Slant Cabinet (Celestion Vintage 30's) Picked up an Ebow, another Shure SM-57, and a whole raft of new cables. Also got a Rocktron Midi-mate for controlling the rig. The Vendetta, Xpression and DHP-33 make up the pieces controlled by it. Answer: You could have just bought me a car instead! Congrats and have fun with the rig! Nate Answer: Buying stock in Rocktron? How much did the whole thing set you back? Not to knock yours or anything, but I've never been a fan of Rocktron. Everything I've had of theirs or played was pretty noisy, but those were just effects. Answer: Luckyy. Answer: Sweet. Well, have fun. I've always thought that having sometihng like that would confuse the heck out of me, so I'll stick to a good ol' guitar>couple effects>amp type deal. Answer: What, no echoplex? Sounds groovy man, btb what do you think of the vendetta? Answer: I wish I had money. Then I could get my tube poweramp and a 2x12 cab for my POD XT Live. Answer: WOW!!! You musta won the lottery!!! Hot gear! you'll be busy for the next 2 years trying to master all that stuff. Answer: Originally Posted by BlessedNinja What, no echoplex? Sounds groovy man, btb what do you think of the vendetta? I really, REALLY like it. The 4 channels are a terrific thing, and each one has it's own distinct character. I'm going to buy a Power Brake at some point so I can really pin it's ears back on a regular basis, but right now I need to spend some time fiddling with it and the Xpression through midi to get things tweaked in and the presets set up before I do that. On about "3" on the 4th channel it'll give tasty feedback and basically infinite sustain. I, of course, turned it up to "10" once the day I got it, and with the 4x12" it was brutally loud. I appreciate a few other things: The guitar you're playing never loses it's character, even when the gain is pegged. Strats sound like Strats, Teles sound like Teles, the Kramer sounds like the Kramer. You never lose individual notes within a chord, even with the gain pegged. Every note rings and you can clearly pick them out. The 7-string sounds amazing through it. One issue I had with my Line 6 AX2 was the fact that it wasn't as good at dealing with the low "B". This amp doesn't mind it at all, and it seems like they emphasized that aspect of the guitar world with it. Tight, focused, chunky. This weekend is going to be an adventure midi-wise... I have a lot to figure out. Answer: ....and a set of ear muffs! ...enjoy Answer: Originally Posted by Brent Buying stock in Rocktron? How much did the whole thing set you back? They have some awesome rack units, including the Xpression and the Intellifex. I have the Intellifex, and for the price, it has some great delay, reverb, and really awesome chorus (up to 8 voices!). Answer: Guys, PacerX just spent a lot of money on guitar stuff. Answer: Originally Posted by Mattlock Guys, PacerX just spent a lot of money on guitar stuff. The Vendetta was designed by Egnater, and sounds pretty nice to my ears. While I visited, Dave Mustaine's All Access midi controller was in for repair, complete with the song names under the switches... seeing that was pretty cool.
