gibson goldtone amps
Question: has anyone ever played these things? Answer: Originally Posted by guitarfreak217 has anyone ever played these things? No, they are just waaaay too ugly. Answer: i'm a gibson fanatic, so if i could find one, i would play through it, just to see how it sounds. they cost too much for me though Answer: Originally Posted by guitarfreak217 has anyone ever played these things? Joe Perry Answer: those things are rediculously expensive. rediculous Answer: I've heard they are fabulous sounding amps. One goofy thing (besides the cheapo brass accented looks) about them is they are configured like 40's style amps - the chassis lays in the botom of the cabinet, so the controls are in the back at floor level. IMHO, that was taking the vintage thing a little too far. I think MF (?) recently had a closeout on the 15 watt non-reverb models. They were marked way down, they may even have some left. Answer: but still they can't be that good. and even if they were i think i'd choose to pay my car insurance before i bought one lol. Answer: On my trip across the country, we stopped at the Gibson Showcase in Nashville. I played the 30-watter Class A, 2 12"s. It was Niiiice. Way expensive though.
