Cheaper high-gain amps?
Question: Does anyone know of any higher-gain tube amps that are on the cheaper side? All I know of is the Peavey Ultras, Bravos, and probably Classics, but is there anything else out there? Answer: Oh yeah, I mean sub-$600 used, or around that range. (and if any of you are selling these amps, i wouldn't mind knowing about it. ) And does anyone have any sound clips of the Classic 30 or 50 with the gain cranked? Answer: rainer...listen to the guitar parts the songs at www.myspace.com/yourfavoriteband and www.purevolume.com/yourfavoriteband all of the guitar parts are a Peavey Classic 50 410. Answer: You should be able to get a Mesa Boogie Studio .22 for that much. I've seen them go for around 500$. One of the guys here at my college has one and it sounds most excellent. I've really liked the cleans and crunch sounds he's gotten. Answer: Maybe a used Mesa Boogie Mark I or II (not C+), if you get a good deal. Answer: i got my legacy head for ~500 on the bay you can also find the MTS on the bay for cheaper *edit* sorry, carvin legacy and carvin MTS Answer: Engl thunder 50. 700 brand new.
