pedal board

Question:
hi guys
i have saved up a lot of money and i wondered if someone would design me a great pedal setup. i have a gretsch 1979 beast with a boss metal zone pedal i think i will sell that whats your opinion. and i am going to get a vox AD120VTX NeoDog 2x12 Combo and a fulltone fulldrive 2 just put me together a great pedal system from there thanks
Answer:
well.........what type of sounds are you shooting for? I'm guessing metal? Anything else?
Answer:
yeah we need details, cause i could come up with a good punk board, but if your into metal.that wouldnt be good..... and how much do you have?
Answer:
Dude, we can't put together a "great" pedal system for YOU. We can put together what would be a great pedal system for US, but not for you. Tone is subjective. There is a reason why there is more than one manufacturer of each different effect, that being that they sound different. Sometimes it's not an issue of good or bad, it's a matter of taste. And that is something we cannot decide for you.
My advice to you is to research things on the net, try them out in person if possible, and either buy them new, or try Ebay. I've had good luck with Ebay - you can get some pretty good deals on there.
Answer:
well said.....
And all I have to say about ebay is good things. I've bought a few things off of there, and have saved alot of money. Some iteams hover around about half their "new" price, or even less. Ahhhhh......ebay.
Anywho, we can't build the board PERFECTLY for you, but we can make recomendations. But first we need to know what your shooting for (as in style, tone)....... ..........
Answer:
My wife could certainly outfit yer pedal board. Of course her decisions would be based on matching colors and sizes, things like that. She likes to spend other people's money.

Answer:
hahahahahaha
well, it would at least produce some intresting sounds......
Answer:
i like music like switchfoot and relient k and just would like some ideas
Answer:
Ok, well then, you'll want some overdrive or distortion for sure. For mild to moderate overdrive, check out the Boss Blues Driver (BD-2). Thats quite the nifty pedal. But, the Vox that your getting has alot of that stuff built in (distortions, delays, compressors, flangers)...you might want to wait till you have the amp for a few weeks before looking at pedals. I'm pretty sure you'll find that the Valvetronix has plenty of options for those sounds. But, if you don't, then just do some research after you decide what you need to add. Then pick up your desired pedal/pedals and, boom!, you're set (thou i think you will be with just the amp).
Answer:
naw you want the boss os2 overdrive/distortoin, its likea 2 in one.
Answer:
My motto is (at least in this situation): If you don't know what you want, don't get anything. If the amp you are getting already has some stuff though, and you are absolutely determined to buy some pedals, wait and see how you like the built in effects first.
Answer:
Oy.. a 79 Beast through a Vox Valvetronix?

Sorry I didnt see this sooner.. ;D But anyways, If you've spent the cash on that valvetronix GET THE FLOORBOARD. You will not regret it.

Or better yet, in my opinion, get your hands on that guitar workcenter Vox has.. I forget its name, but its practically an amp to itself, down to its own tube for tone sweetening.

Speaking of which.. can you get any clean recordings of that Beast up perhaps? I've wanted to hear one for a while, hard to find them seeing as how crappy most were.
Answer:
At a music store i vistsited to check out the AC30, the guy immedeatly tried to sell me a valvetronix instead. It's a decent amp, and seems pretty easy to program in your own sounds and whatnot, so it can sound like just about anything............and the valvetronix has pedals built in.......you can select overdrive (I think), compression, acoustic simulator, flange, chorus, delay, and alot more that i cannot think of. I could see where this would be a handy amp.
Answer:
i will try to let you here my beast but the most easy way to hear one is to listen to switchfoot jon foreman uses a gretsch most of the time
Answer:
