Traynor tube amp

Question:
I just used a Traynor 15w (at least I think it was 15, mighta been more) 1x12 tube amp in the studio yesterday, and I was blown away by the quality. It's such an awesome little amp. If I had the money, I'd go out and buy one myself. So awesome. If anyone is looking for a sweet little tube amp, Traynor is the way to go.
Answer:
one of the guitarists in my band has the 2 12 traynor. very nice bang for the bung amp.
Answer:
It's what i've been saying about mine since I got it!
Answer:
Traynors are great amps. I would have bought a 212 if they only had more gain(distortion)...the clean channel on those amps rivals(some would say beats) a twin reverb any day, and the overdrive is a very smooth and classy tone.
Answer:
I think with an overdrive pedal, you could get all the distortion you would ever need. Though it might not be voiced for heavy metal or anything, but you could get plenty out of it, I'm sure.

It just wouldn't be the same...I NEED real tube distortion.
Answer:
Yeah, my Jekyll & Hyde helps, but I seriously doubt I could ever get a true metal sound from the amp just because it isn't made for it. Thats why I want something along the lines of a Classic 30 in a few years.
Answer:
No, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you could get metal distortion. Just a lot of freakin sweet overdrive. More like good modern rock.
Oh, and the overdrive pedal would be used in conjunction with the tube distortion. Basically, the overdrive pedal would push the tubes even further for even more saturation.

My bad, I thought you were advocating superior distortion via a stomp box.
Answer:
Haha, quite alright. If you read any other of my past posts about distortion pedals, you might have understood. I've always supported amp distortion over stomp box distortion. It's the only way to go.

I agree. I've been advocating Traynors ever since I got mine, a YCV40, although I still like PianoMan's red one. CGR members, if you want more raves of Traynor, check out the comments on the Miscellaneous and Non-Fender forums in http://www.fenderforum.com/forum.html. Most people love their Traynors (even better than some of the Fender models)!
