acoustic simulators
Question: i was messing around with the boss ac2 acoustic simulator and i thought it was horrible. i was wondering if there were any acoustic simulators that actually makes an electric sound like an acoustic Answer: I don't see the point of those... Answer: they're much cheaper than going out and buying an acoustic guitar although the quality of the sound may not be the same. there's also less hassle in switching instruments between/during songs. and there are also a lot of things you can't do on an acoustic as well as on an electric Answer: Is there things you can do better on an electric that you need to do on an acoustic anyways? Answer: i forgot to mention that i'm a metalhead and shredding's nearly impossible to do on an acoustic Answer: Originally Posted by ponchee i was wondering if there were any acoustic simulators that actually makes an electric sound like an acoustic There aren't. Simulaters are pretty useless. They only sound almost decent when you run an acoustic through them. -Nick Answer: Originally Posted by Only Alive There aren't. Simulaters are pretty useless. Answer: Acoustic shredding? Stick to electric with the shreds dude. Unless you can actually do it on the acoustic, which would be amazing. -Nick Answer: Originally Posted by Only Alive Acoustic shredding? Stick to electric with the shreds dude. Answer: You guys obviously haven't heard Phil Keaggy. My all time fovorite guitarist. Guitar virtuoso playing for probably 45-50+ years, and can shred faster then 99% of the guitarists out there. And he does it 75% of the time on an acoustic. His albums don't really show off his skills, but if you get a chance to see him live, take it since he really shows off there. Answer: Oh yeah ... I didn't even think about Phil! Good point PianoMan. -Nick Answer: Originally Posted by PianoMan You guys obviously haven't heard Phil Keaggy. My all time fovorite guitarist. Very yes. Answer: Originally Posted by PianoMan You guys obviously haven't heard Phil Keaggy... or John McLaughlin...or any number of Flamenco players...or the Gypsy Jazzers (Django, etc.)... Answer: Originally Posted by PianoMan You guys obviously haven't heard Phil Keaggy. My all time fovorite guitarist. Guitar virtuoso playing for probably 45-50+ years YIKES! Don't make him sound older than he is!!! He's not quite as old as he looks . 43 years and counting.... I've heard him shred on acoustic. He can do it. So can a lot of other players. It's not an issue of whether or not it can be done; but most people playing acoustic don't *want* to shred because it usually doesn't fit what they're playing at the moment. If you want the playability of an electric and the sound of an acoustic, save your money and get a Taylor. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
