Behringer

Question:
i just got a new behringer ss amp, 100 stereo split between 2x12 jensen speakers, 2 channel, 47 digital effects (which i'm kinda indifferent to, but hey), so it sounds great, i love it, tube wasn't gonna be practical for the kind of travelling and work i need it to do
but i was just wondering if anyone else had any experience with them, and what they thought
Answer:
I'e heard behringer cabs with jenson speakers sound great. Havent heard 1 of their "high end" combos though
Answer:
oh they do sound great, i was just wondering, not knowing a ton about the company if there was common things that break after so much time, or anything i should look out for, special up keep to prevent it, things like that
Answer:
from what i've seen, behringer stuff is pretty much hit and miss... some stuff is OK, other stuff stinks.
as far as things breaking - i would assume there wouldn't be much to worry about... the digital internals - if something goes wrong, there isn't much you can do except to send it back... as far as preventing problems, just use some common sense - keep it clean, don't get it wet, don't drop it, etc...
thats about all you can do or need to do for SS, as far as i know.
if you are curious if there may be problems that arise with time that is a design problem, goto www.harmony-central.com/user_reviews/ problems that occur over and over within a model shouldn't happen with a good manufacturer, but sometimes there are design flaws... if thats what your wondering about, usually you can find out there.
Answer:
hey now - I have a behringer ultratwin gx212 and the knobs keep breaking off. The internals are fine, it is the externals that are cheap
Hope you have a different experience.
I'm selling mine.

Behringer seems to be a company that makes ok stuff at better than ok prices. I had a Vamp-2 and it seemed fine, and I've also used a couple of their mixing boards and they seemed ok too. I didn't feel they had the heavy duty construction that more expensive brands usually have though.

My friend has a yamaha mg 16/4 mixing desk and quality wise it outdoes the behringer stuff. I must try one of their cabs when I get my head to see if they really are as good as people on harmony central say.

that vamp2 still works fine.
i have one of their mixing boards, and well, it is resilient. It has taken a ridiculous beating, and works fine. It is not pristinely perfect, but it is pretty good. for as light of weight a board as it is, it has withstood being dropped, whacked, cooked, and road use. it has not failed me.
Answer:
Like most "cheaper" companies, berhinger products have the possibility of being great. But most of them are not that good. Quality control is one thing that keeps berhinger from being great. If you buy a berhinger product, be sure to try it out in person. Or your taking a big risk.
I have a couple of their products. A very good x v-amp and the v-amp2, and they are both working just fine.
Answer:
I've heard the power amp section of behringer amps are terrible. A local music store stopped selling them because they had like 75% percent of their sales returned and they had to send them to germany at their own cost, so they stopped carrying them.
