Pedals... Digitech vs. ??
Question: Hey, I had a Digitech RP-80 , I was really impressed by it's performance. But, Iam wanting to set up a pedal board [single effects] and I wanted to know which brand of fx pedals produces the best quality in your opinion. Which do you think is better for single effects pedal board? Digitech Boss Zoom Danelectro Ibanez etc... Thanks for any help. Answer: Each brand has some good pedals and some not-so-good ones. For example, Digitech has a great whammy, but Danelectro has a good chorus, and Boss has a good delay, and Ibanez has a good overdrive, and Vox has a nice wah, and so on. No one brand has the best pedals for every effect. Answer: Follow rainer's advice... Answer: I have two Danelectros. The Grilled Cheese distortion is very trebely and thin sounding. It also sounds terrible at hight volumes. Their Hash Browns flanger is very noisy inside the speakers, but doesn't flange very well. You can't hear the signal with the song being played, if that makes sense. Answer: maxon high quality stuff for high bones :P Answer: the entire point and purpose of the grilled cheese distortion is to sound terrible. Answer: Rainer's right. Some pros love Danelectro, and yet they have also made the hands-down worst EVER single pedal and that was the failed experiment known as the Sitar Swami... Personally, I have had the best luck with Boss. They sound more professional to me, like what you'd hear on the radio. Answer: ...and Boss is a reliable brand for durability. Answer: i agree with the boss fanatics in here. i have a couple boss pedals myself and they provide a much wider range in sound adjustments to your preference Answer: I like the Digitechs myself. 2002 Epi LP Classic Quilt or 1994 Mexican Strat into Digitech RP100 into Fender FM212 for HIS GLORY! Answer: like rainer said different companies are good for different effects check out fulltone adn visual sounds too, there good Answer: Thanks so much for all the help you guys. Personaly I am attached to Digitech but I am willing to expand my horizons . What is an "Overdrive" pedal? Is that a form of Distortion. Answer: Try electro harmonix for some great quality stuff. If you can, go analog over digital. Answer: Originally Posted by xlx_Jason_xlx Thanks so much for all the help you guys. Personaly I am attached to Digitech but I am willing to expand my horizons . What is an "Overdrive" pedal? Is that a form of Distortion. overdrive is just lest crunch to it than distortion. like the distortion you would hear on more classic rock stuff, zeppelin adn stuff like that, i personally like to have an overdrive and distortion on my line. i usuallly pull the overdrive off the amp adn use fulltone distortion pedal Answer: Digitech has some surprisingly good anolog pedals out. They're all distortion pedals. I put the grunge one on my christmas list. Affordable too, $40-50. But i'd stay away from anything else of theirs. I've found their digital stuff to computerized sounding. The Boss DS-1 distortion pedal is also highly popular. For other effects (flanger, delay, chorus etc...) go with boss. They'll last forever and still sound good. For wah Vox and Jim Dunlop Crybaby's are nice. I have a crybaby that I love. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
