212 tube amps

Question:
Whats the best amp for the money? Im thinking about either a hot rod or a traynor ycv. Im not to sure yet though bah money the problem to everything.
Answer:
how much money are you looking at spending?
what kind of sound do you want?
I'd definitely look at the new Peavey ValveKing 212. the VK series are supposed to be super versatile.
Answer:
I also think that Peavey made a 2x12 version of the Ultra. The 5150/6505 comes in 2x12 combos as well.
Answer:
Well i want an amp with a really clean sound thats what i really want. Im willing to spend around $400 for one probably used. And it has to be loud enough to cover a sanctuary that can fit maybe around 1000 i think im not to sure though. Or is it better to buy something lower with it mic'd up? I need advice and a bit strapped for cash so if all i need is even a smaller amp ill get and mic it up.
Answer:
when you say clean, i think carvin...yeah i'm a carvin nut but the MTS seems to fit your requirements pretty well...carvin is known for their phenominal clean channels, i've seen them go for about $400 on ebay (but it might take some doing) and as for volume it's 100 watts...maybe it'll need micing, i don't know...but isn't 100 tube watts normally considered more than enough?

Mic'd is always preferable, but for a pristine clean, a good amount of wattage should be suitable.
The very first thing I think when I hear pristine clean tube tone is Fender. A Fender Twin would be absolutely perfect. Look for one used, though it may be hard to find one go for sub-400.
I think a good amp that you might be interested in is the Roland Jazz Chorus. It's solid state, but it has quite a sweet pristine clean tone. Look for one used.
Answer:
regardless of your wattage, you should mic your amp. your unidirectional 2x12" (or 4x12") cab is not going to fill a sanctuary built for 1000 people as well as the church's sound system will.
Answer:
If you can find one, I would recomend a Peavey Ranger 212. I have one and the clean channel is as close to fender as one can get (without getting a fender of course) ,and the lead channel goes from soft overdrive to heavy stadium rock, along w/ everything in between.
Answer:
Agreed with Rainer,
If you want pristine clean, look at the Roland Jazz Chorus. And I also agree, always mic your amp as much as possible. The Peavey Ultra is an excellent amp, but it's clean channel isn't pristine clean. If you turn the clean volume up to about 9 or 10, you get a hint of break-up. I like it. It's a sweet blues tone.
Answer:
$400 Canadian?
