Looking for an amp

Question:
Price:$200-$350 (a bit more if it really helps)
Genre: I play everything (mostly rock) so a semi-versitale amp is a must.
I have an RP200a pedal, so I dont really need effects on the amp itself(Do I?).
Uh. I want good volume, I play with drums, sometimes bass, viola, everything.
Guitar:I have (or soon will have) a Gibson SG.
Anything else you need to know?
Answer:
what are you looking for in an amp? tube or SS? you want lots of built in effects or just the basics?
Answer:
if you're willing to spend $400, you can get the fender blues jr. that amp rocks
Answer:
$200-$350.
get a used Peavey Classic 50 (I've seen them for $325 on occasion), or try out one of the new Peavey Valvekings.
Answer:
I have a friend who is selling his Classic 50 for $325. He's retubed it with Mesa's and the amp just sounds wonderful. I could get you his contact info if you want.
Answer:
What wattage are you looking for? I would look at some Vox amps (not the VT) or even some Marshalls. The Peaveys sound good as well. Just go to your local music store and try some out to see what sounds you like best.

Vox has no other 'good' amps in that price range...
The Valvetronix amps are, IMHO, some of the best new buys in the $200-300 range.
If your willing to look used and go with tube, then what they said above.
Answer:
I took my VT back because:
#1 the effects sucked (I expected them to be better)
#2 the distortions were ok, but not great.
So I thought to myself, get a cheaper Vox with no effects or get a better amp.. That's why I got my Spider II.
Answer:
I'm going to reiterate my list...
Peavey Ultra
Peavey 5150
Yamaha T50C (mine!)
Peavey Bravo
Marshall DSL401
You should be able to get these used for sub-$400 if you look.

GO FOR IT!
Answer:
If that deal doesn't work out for ya, those black epiphones (the 12 inch 15 watt) Sounds pretty nice.
Answer:
will do. I'm actually going to be really jealous of whoever ends up buying it. I want that amp so bad, and I could buy it if I wanted and actually probably resell it for profit (I wouldn't do that now, though I'm kicking myself for telling you about this amp ). That thing is in perfect condition and it just sounds soooo amazing. I really can't justify buying it though since my Traynor YCV 80Q sounds equally as good. Just GAS I guess... .

Anyways, shoot me an e-mail and I'll get on top of getting his info for you. Where are you in the country?

Not for hard rock, no.

Agreed. If they're anything like the Galaxie amps, they're good for quiet home practice and that's it. The tone is quite poor for a tube amp, imho.
Answer:
the new Specials are supposed to be alot better than the Galaxies...some of them are prone to be noisy, but others pretty good.
