so my church is preparing for FAF
Question: for those of you who dont know what it is, its basicaly 1st asmbley of God all around the us compete in dif categorys. and im doin worship band /christain band. and im wonderin what would be some good pedals to add to my board befor then. and so just christain/worship band materail effects. any suggestoins? Answer: what kind of sound do you want? what kind of gear do you already have? how much time do you have to learn how to use hte new equipment? let's be honest, i have a some neat stuff at my disposal, for example, the digitech xdd, but if i was going into a competition, i'd take my old dano pb&j delay because i haven't learned how to use the xdd yet. i might not even take any effects according to what kind of sound i wanted...etc. pedals aren't a cure all...they aren't even a necessity. i've gotten accustomed to playing without any effects when i play guitar...and i like it that way. Answer: well i have a overdrive and a chorus. i can play the songs really good, but somethings missing, like the cherry on top. well were playing a song called one way by united live. Answer: phaser? tremelo? i've never heard the song so i have no idea what you could be missing. what do you feel like is missing? Answer: Originally Posted by Jdog_andTheCrew ...and im doin worship band.... I'm not trying to be difficult, but how does one compete in the 'worship band' category? Do you use a Holy Spiritometer to see which band invokes more of God's spirit? Do you count how many people fall out or speak in tongues? I just can't begin to imagine what criteria one would use to judge a worship band. Maybe you could pass out cards to the congregation and have them fill out a questionnaire... On a scale of one to ten, rate the intimacy you felt with your Lord and Savior during the time band 'A' was playing. Answer: true very true yeah i ges i was being selfish but a delay and a trem would be nice to have. Sadly, "worship" has formed into a word to describe a certain style of music to the world. But as long as you don't confine worship to music it's all right. And Jdog is competeing to show how skillfully they can play "this" type of music. So even that's it is a good thing to point out, what you said, you have to realize that worship means just a style of music to some people. And they have been taught that. So we have to teach them the right way sometimes. And mocking usually isn't the right way to do it. Answer: yeah see i think in fine arts the heart of worship is 1st, but then talent is 2nd. Answer: Originally Posted by J.W4Christ I think they uses tremolo + distortion I know the song tremolo?? never noticed that...what part of the song? Also I'm in fine arts too....It depends though what song you want for your guitar... Answer: "Worship competition" Answer: Not really a cometition, because its not just one person that advances, it's to test your skill and if you rate high enough you advance. It's a program to so your skills and prepare you for ministry. Answer: word texan dog. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
