Quick Question!

Question:
Hey Guys!

I'm thinking about buying a Marshall or an Orange 2x12 cab. And I was wondering if I could go with out an amp head and just run my Line 6 POD Through the cab. Woulnd't this give me good clear POD tones with out it running through the Amps pre-amp? Thanks!!!
Answer:
No, the POD only has a line level and headphone out, neither of which has the kind of power needed to drive a speaker. You can use a PA type amp if you want.
Answer:
This reminds me of when I found my friend plugging in headphones into his bass input jack and complaining he couldnt hear it....
ya, the ouput on the POD is not powered for speaker cab use. for the price of a marshall or orange cab, try Avatar cabs and save the money for a 50 watt power amp...
Connect guitar to POD, POD to power amp, power amp to speaker cab and you will be good to go.
The avatars I have heard sound better than Marshall/orange/fender/bogner/diezel/line 6 cabs and are WAY cheaper...
Avatar Cabs
*anathema*
Answer:
If you were going to run the POD through a PA type power amplifier, then you would be better off getting a full range speaker (like a PA speaker). This would give you the truest sound of the models of the POD. Its the same as running it through studio monitors when recording direct.
