Gig/tour bags, "backpack" cases
Question: I'm looking for a good quality, inexpensive case I can carry on my back through airports, etc. It needs to fit a strat and not be much larger. A lot of front pockets, comfortable back straps, and good padding are important. I have a "Rok Sak" for my MIM but it's starting to wear out. It's not a model they make any more regardless. When I bought my MIA they sold me this one for $30: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/produ...Bag?sku=541333 And it has nice straps and pockets, but it's quite a bit bigger than the guitar. This not only makes it feel flimsy, but the larger case I have, the more problems I have going on airplanes. Any suggestions? I want to stay in the same price range, and if I'm spending more like $50 I want a considerably better case. Thanks! Answer: dude, that is like the best gig bag you'll ever have. i have one and its perfect. the size of the guitar shouldn't matter a whole lot. so long as the headstock is still only hitting the nylon protector at the top of the gig bag, it should be fine. Answer: Reunion Blues bags are great. I've had a couple (not guitar cases though, well, not yet). Mine have been all over and have held up great. Answer: This is the gig bag to end all gig bags: http://www.prsguitars.com/miva/merch...egory_Code=BGS Better yet, look on eBay for a PRS SE gig bag. Answer: Well, I swapped out the red bag for this one: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/produ...Bag?sku=541330 It's awesome. It has a lot more padding, is a bit smaller, and has the detachable pack which is perfect for plane trips. Definitely a keeper. Answer: That PRS gig bag is the exact same thing as G&L's gig bags, only with a different logo of course. Looks exactly like the one my ASAT Tele is in next to me. Same handle above the double pocket and everything. And I do agree it is about the best gig bag I've ever used. Even has a velcro strap inside to secure the neck to the lining.
