Welcome to www.thanktoday.com !!!

I did something I never thought I'd do...

Question:
Well, I shocked myself last evening and I bought...gasp!! a digital modeling amp.
My guitar teacher used to work for Line6 and has been prodding me to get a Line6 amp, but I had resisted up until yesterday.
My wife forwarded me a classified ad from her work listing a Line6 flextone Duo (100w stereo 2 x 10") w/ foot controller for $150. I thought at that price I'll check it out and just see. I was shocked, this amp is in absolutely perfect condition. It has never been used for anything except recording in the guy's basement. Not one scratch. I also must say, I am way, way more impressed with way this amp sounds than I ever thought I would be. Granted, this amp is not the latest modelling technology, but it sounds pretty darn good. It helped that my teacher was able to show me how to dial in a few good sounds, but still, this coming from a guy who swore off anything other than tubes a while ago. Just goes to show, never say never...
Answer:
nice!!!
esp for the price
Answer:
Nice price! As a person whose basically swore off Digi amps, I must say, I'm a bit jealous...
Answer:
Geez, excellent deal! I would definitly have taken that!

can i ask a stupid question??
I have been wondering whats the use of those big footswitch?
Answer:
The footswitch lets you store several different effects settings and then switch between them with one tap. It also contains a volume and a wah pedal, a tap tempo switch, a tuner, and various other things.
Answer:
shame on you!!! you should have converted your teacher too tubeism
Answer:
Dang... right time, right place. The pedalboard alone is worth at least $100 new.
Also, after looking at the picture closely, I couldn't help but wonder what that thing hiding under your bed might be, Mr. I-Only-Play-Tubes Man?
Hehe... I think you're busted... (unless you have a really good alibi (which you probably will (which, of course, sets me up perfectly for my next post, that will say: "Likely story. As if I've never heard that one before" (Muhahaha!))))

Actually, if you look in my classified ad, you'll notice that piece is for sale Basically because it doesn't do anything except sit there. Ha ha, you are right though, I am busted. I have several ss amps and equipment, but ever since I got a tube amp, I really don't even use the stuff, except my small practice amp, or when someone comes over to jam. You'll notice I'm also selling my Marshall

Great deal! Frankly, I'm not shocked that you got a modeling amp. It's better to have that and a tuber so you can benefit from the pro's of each type. What shocked me more is that your wife gave you the lead - what a great gift you have!
Here's another one for the "never say never" category. Some of you might know that I have said over and over on these boards that I prefer to "buy used" for a great deal. Well, guess what! My newest purchase just this past weekend was a new Fender American Deluxe 50th Anniversary Strat! It's back ordered so I am waiting another few weeks - I can hardly stand it.
Dave, I feel your pain.

ha ha, I'm gald we're in this together
I've got to say guys, I played this amp last night at our youth band rehearsal, and it has exceeded my wildest dreams, honestly It sounds way way better than I thought it would. No, it's not an EXACT replica of all the amps it claims to be, but it sounds great and it's easy to use. I am NOT, however, jumping off the tuber wagon, I will stay on that as long as I can pick-up a guitar and play it I just want to share my new found amazement...
