Welcome to www.thanktoday.com !!!

I bought a new amp: Epi Valve Standard

Question:
The local music store was having it's annual clearance sale today.
This is the same sale where in past years I bought my Solidac for $250 (normally $700) and my Freeway 5 bass for $380 (normally $600).
Today I went down to see the killer deals (Vox AC30 w/ Celestions for $879!!!) and ended up leaving with a slightly used Epiphone Valve Standard for $150.
Specs are:
15 watt Class A all-tube (el84 and 12ax7)
12" speaker
DSP effects
DSP reverb
External speaker out
Sounds:
The clean is relatively clean with just a hint of dirt...the overdrive is very sweet and lacks that inherent buzziness that the modeling amp overdrive/distortions are known for...and the effects are ok but they're probably the weakest part of the amp, or at least their accessability is as you can only dial them in manually, they're preset-only so there's no tap tempo or anything, of the three effects (delay/chorus/flange) you may only have 1 at a time on, and they're either on or off (via front panel push button or footswitch).
I'll run stomp boxes to get the effects I need (I have a custom pedalboard already) and simply used the amp as a tube amp as it serves this purpose very well...again, for the money.
Overall:
I have to say that I'm really impressed with this thing and I may actually replace my Spider II with it as my main church rig.
Like most any tube amps I'm sure there are mods that can be done to improve the tone of the Epi amp so I'll be looking into that but it does sound nice for the price (nowhere near as nice as the AC15 I tried out but it was $350 more and I'm, well, cheap.).
I have 10 days to return it if I'm just not happy with it but I have a feeling I'll be keeping it and selling other less-used gear.
Anyone else have one of these or one of it's relatives (Valve Junior or Valve Special)?
Answer:
Wow, that's an awesome deal. I wish I had a music store like that close by. The only stores around here that sell used equipment are pawn shops It's unbelievable that you could get an all-tube amp like that for $150. Let us know how it works out for worship.

Will do.
My last good deal on a tube amp was my Peavey Classic 20 that I bought used at a music store in Agoura Hills, CA: $175.

Yes, as tempting as that price was I have no practical need for an AC30.
One of my students, on the other hand, did and so he picked one up.
