Need Advice about Bass Pedals..

Question:
I need something to help boost the bass on my EB3 Epiphone bass. I really love a deep sound (like the one I get from my Gretsch bass). We only use a PA system (temporarily). I can't use an amp, but I would be able to use a pedal. What do you guys recommend in the $50-$100 range. I was hoping a pedal would help me get a deeper bass sound. Correct me if I'm wrong on that also.
Thanks!!

For a deeper bass sound, you're only using a PA system, so you are limited by whatever speakers and amplifiers you have as to how much good bass you can get. If you get the deep sound from the Gretsch, then the system can probably handle it. Did you already tweak the mixers Bass EQ? If you have that up, and its not enough then adding more with a pedal will likely just overdrive the channel or the speakers and sound like mud. Try scooping out some of the mids and highs and see if it makes a difference before you add more bass.

Thanks for all the imput guys! I ordered an Equalizer yesterday. I am very new to playing, so I don't know a lot about the equipment yet, so don't laugh too hard.

I actually reccomend dw's... oh so lame. The moment has passed.
Answer:
I got my Boss GEB-7 equalizer yesterday, and I couldn't be more happy!!! It really helps bring out those deep tones on my basses, when I can't use the amp.
And they also sent a sale catalog and I found a drum pedal also! I'll be ordering that next.
