Broken String on Ernie Ball VP, have any experience?
Question: So in practice tonight the string on my volume pedal finally went by the wayside after 3 years... I know that I can just replace the string (but I did not see where to order it on EB's site) sooo.... Does anyone have any experience replacing the string? Is it a fairly easy job and if so how much did it cost for the string. Is it something the local GC will carry or do I need to order it.... If it is too much of a hassle I know I can have my entire pedal rebuilt for $45, but that just seems a little ridiculous to me when all I have is a broken string. Answer: So I emailed Ernie ball and they're gonna send me a new string and springs for free! That's pretty sweet. Two cheers for customer service. Answer: yea the strings are going to break every now and then but its a common problem and they seem pretty good on sending new strings. you shoudl get some spares just in case they break and you need to change them in a hurry Answer: Originally Posted by coupon yea the strings are going to break every now and then but its a common problem and they seem pretty good on sending new strings. you shoudl get some spares just in case they break and you need to change them in a hurry I'm just surprised that they didn't even charge for shipping or anything... good people! Answer: Thanks for the story!!! I've never had any problems w/ an EB pedal, but it's good to know they stand by their stuff. Keep us updated about your experience w/ the string change. Answer: If it's just a string and springs then it's costing them more to have someone put it in an envelope and mail it to you than it's costing them for parts. I don't think any company should charge for something that trivial. Too bad that's not the norm for most companies. Answer: yeah, I was just surprised they didn't ask me to cover shipping or something... props to Ernie Ball. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
