2 questions.

Question:
1) The difference between OD and Distortion
2) The difference between reverb and delay.
shoot me
Answer:
the difference between OD and distortion is minimal and varies by the person describing. OD is generally the early stages of signal clipping and breakup. distortion is heavier, more extreme overdrive.
Delay and reverb are fundamentally different though. Reverb is based on acoustic echo principles. This results in more of a random echo effect. Delay on the other hand is more calculated and precise. the differences between delay and reverberation are explained in more detail at this page

Answer:
Here's a short and simple explanation:
Distortion is harder, heavier overdrive.
Reverb is like a echo. In a lot of ways, it is like the difference between playing inside and outside. Inside, the acoustics of the room will affect the sound and it to echo in different ways.
Delay is a replication, generally more than one, of the sound. Anything from just a slight replication (which is similar to reverb, though not the same) to all out replications that are as loud as the original sound.
Answer:
so what does reverb do for me as a acoustic guitarist (hooked to pa) AND electric guitarist?
is it similar a chorus?

is it similar a chorus? did you read the link I provided above at all? it also explains chorus on that site as well.
Answer:
Adding reverb can be thought of as putting yourself in a bigger room.
Chorus is a modulation effect.
Answer:
reverb=bigger room
chorus=more guitars playing the same thing you are

I've never seen a member with as many questions as you! Dont worry, thats not a bad thing at all, you're willing to learn, and you know who to ask.
Chorus is what I would define as coating your sound in mouth wash. Very liquidy. They say its a "doubling" effect, but I have yet to hear a chorus that sounds like multiple guitars.
Delay is a very obvious echo, like "Da...da...da..da..da" *dissipate*
Reverb is like what you hear when yelling in a big empty room. The sound carries.
Answer:
Yeah. Think, beginning of Pillar's "Fireproof".

A basic chorus is going to sound exactly as the name implies...a chorus. It's not so much a "doubling" effect so your one guitar sounds like two, but instead your one guitar sounds like a chorus of guitars. In the past I've effectively used a chorus pedal to get a very 12-stringish sound.
Technically speaking, chorus is a combination of delay and pitch modulation. This is all explained in the link I posted earlier.
