Switching on the new RP's
Question: How does switching of channels work on the new Digitech RP Series? I'm asking because I'm thinking of buying one to be my effects as I continue to save for an XTL. Is the switching efficient enough to play live? CL Answer: I take it your asking if it switches fast enough to be able to changes patches in the middle of a song. They are definitely much faster than the older RP's. I haven't used mine live yet but I don't think there would be a problem. I used to have an RP100 and they were not so good for changing patches during a song. One thing that could be a problem using live is the tuner. It is sometimes tricky to press both pedal down at the same time to get to the tuner. It's really easy to fly through a dozen presets if you don't coordinate it just right. I've been very impressed with my RP so far; it is a great improvement over my RP100. My advice, if you plan to upgrade down the road, is to buy used. I bought my RP250 used on Ebay for $99 (same price as a new RP150). If I were to sell it in the next year or so, I could probably sell it for the same price.
