pedal boards

Question:
ive tried searching, but i dont think theres a thread that comapres different pedal boards and i didnt want to revive super old ones. i dont really want to make one, just because i was always the kind of person that tried to build legos and models as a kid but failed horribly. so unless theres a step by step instruction somewhere ill probably end up buying one. ive looked at the pbc? i think one on rondomusic that were like $40. that seems like a really good price and i think i want that, but i move my gear from place to place alot. home -> church -> another church -> home. almost every other day. so im just concerned if it will get worn down by constant use or w/e. the pedal train ones look really nice...but expensive. also size is something i dont know about either.
the pedals i have
-voodoo labs pedalpower 2
-boss tu-2
-ernie ball volume jr
-boss dd20
-fulltone fulldrive 2
-sonic stomp bbe
and yes, i am a copycat. its a good place to start right?
i might get 1-2 more in the future. or maybe even more i dont know yet. so i might need a wee bit room to expand. or not. i dont know lol.
Answer:
The big one on Rondo might not be big enough. I have it and it is just about filled up with only a DL4, DS-1, Tweak-O, Crybaby, Switch for CH2 of amp, and a powerstrip.
If you can fit what you have, there won't be much room I don't think for anything else. You can save room by not putting the powerstrip on board I guess. Its sure nice to have it on there though.

Woot. You put your power supplies beneath your pedals in the compartment.
I am not the type to spend $200 on a "case", so i'm going to be building one like that in the future when I get enough pedals to put on it.

I recommend these pedalboards. They have a stand up set-up time, prices aren't bad, they have really good quality material very sturdy. I've used em, and (Daniel Carson uses em).

If you're looking at the Pedal Trains, they're worth every penny. You can mount your Voodoo Lab under the board. There's a guy on another forum site that mills the PT's so that the Pedal Power fits underneath and out of the way. I just got mine from him with the Pedal Power. It looks like this.

id really liked to get a pedal train, but i think they are just out of my budget right now. i just bought a bunch of other stuff and i need a pedal board soon so im really considering these

http://www.rondomusic.net/pedalcases.html just looking at the latches on that thing make me worry, but they're really cheap, so if it dies on you it isn't the biggest deal. Really nice pedalboards do not come cheap...
some other places to look?

i think i've found that pedal boards are overrated. well, mainly if you have lots of pedals. if you have like 3-4 pedals, then go for it, but ify ou have more... its like carrying the kitchen table around

A pedalboard for a few pedals, a nice luxury.
However, when you start getting a lot of pedals a pedalboard really becomes a necessity, because the time required to set up a bunch of pedals will become a big pain.

+1. Even with just 6 pedals on my board (including 3 small Danos), being able to mount my amp footswitch is so convenient.

When you're hooking up 15-16 pedals... or need to hook up power supplies... pedal boards are a necessity. Yes can get heavy with the beefier boards and the plethera of pedals. Once it gets to 50lbs look into getting wheels or a roadie.

It's definately worth it when you're running late for rehearsal and your worship leader is glaring at you when you're setting up... or worse... you are the worship leader and the whole bands glaring at you.

"just looking at the latches on that thing make me worry, "
I have the big Rondo case. After a few months I did bend one of the hinges so far. I was able to bend it back but that part isn't great. The latch part seems okay so far.
