NEW AMP!

Question:
so i went to guitar center today because my friend needed to buy a cable and somehow, i have no idea how, i walked out with a vox ac15 this thing sounds amazing...
i noticed after buying it, theres no effects loop which the amp i played on before had. how do pedals react to this amp? how would volume pedals work on this? right now i have a crappy behringer vamp2, but im gonna get some pedals very soon! starting with a boss dd-20.
k thats all. i just had to share my excitement

Schweeeeet. I wish I had that kind of money... hehe... Most pedals sound good before the amp anyways, just not a delay... I suppose you could mod it to add an effects loop...
Answer:
I'm jealous! Actually, I'm currently keeping my eye out for a good deal on a Vox AC-30. Congrats on the purchase!
The effects loop isn't necessary, but it is nice for modulation effects.
Answer:
FWIW, delay sounds fine in front of an amp as long as said amp isn't doing a ton of signal clipping.
Answer:
Yeah, just keep it in front of your distortion pedals.
The Vox AC Custom Classics sure sound nice.

Answer:
Yeah........
Answer:
haha thanks for the discussion, i was getting all confused by reading front and after. i thoguht peopel were telling me different things about the order of the distortion and delay. this may be a little off topic since this is the amp section but quick question i guess it might kinda relate to the amp. my friend told me that i shoudl get a splitter since the amp doesnt have an effect loop so i can put the volume and tuner pedal in a seperate chain. does this make sense?

Eh...I can't think of any normal reasons to do this. I also don't know what it would accomplish. I could see getting a true bypass loop to remove your tuner from the direct line, but I don't know why you'd through the volume pedal in there too.
Answer:
Congrats on the new amp.

Heh? I've noticed mine sounds better before my distorition... Or maybe I'm getting the order confused.
Guitar --> delay --> dist. --> amp is how I roll. Sounds much better.
Congrats on the new buy! I'm definately jealous.

Answer:
I've always gone w/ my delays after my overdrive pedals.
I have a vox-ish amp that's 18 watts, and I think you'll find that there is really no reason to have an effects loop because the amp just doesn't put out a ton of gain.
I actually played an AC-15 in the studio for a session and it sounded fine with all the delays simply going into the input, you should have no problems.
Answer:
alrightey then. thanks all

I dunno, the other way around makes it sound all muddy and makes the repeats sound distorted. My way they're clear.
