Some people enjoy the peace and quiet of home over the cacophony of Guitar Center. It also gives you more time to see what works and what doesn't.

Yeah, I don't really like the thought of hauling my entire rig (amp, pedalboard and guitar) into a GC or similar store just to try a pedal out. Plus, I've found that I don't really know whether I truly like a pedal or not until after at least a couple of hours of playing with it, and no way am I going to sit that long in a store....
Plus, with most quality effects, if you buy used and get it at a decent price, you can usually sell it if you don't want to keep it at the same (or better ) price than you bought it for. So, you basically are renting it for a month or two for free, other than the $5 or so for shipping.
Having said all that, anyone have a J&H?

Same here. I got mine a few days ago, and I think it is already directly linked to my blood stream.
