Data sheets for POD XT patches?
Question: Okay, so as reported in a different thread, I bought a POD XT off Ebay while keeping my tube setup. So it finally came in... HOLY COW HOLY SMOKING COW can that thing do a lot. My several hours of playing with it hasn't even remotely scratched the surface. My one problem: currently, I am sans internet connection at home (I know, living in the dark ages, but we can't yet get high-speed service where I live, and I'm waiting until it becomes available). I would love to use the thousands of downloadable patches on Line 6's website, but I can't for now. Is there a place where, instead of directly downloading the patch to your POD, you can get data sheets, i.e., something that has all of the settings listed so I can then enter them manually? I have an internet connection at work, so I can easily print such sheets and take them home. I'm not looking for anything in particular, just different patches to experiment with. It seems that the previous owner of my POD was, shall we say, a metal fanatic--every single patch is metal--and not that I have anything against metal (I will def. keep some of them), I just want to try some others, and I was looking for a quicker option than just blind experimentation. Answer: Often the patches mention the settings they used. Maybe not every single one, but the important ones. The other thing I suggest is getting a flash drive. You could download the patches to your flash drive while at work, and then put them on your home computer when you got home. That would probably be easier. Answer: That would be my suggestion. Answer: u can download them onto a flash drive or even a floppy and copy them over into your computer and load them onto your xtl from there edit: oops, i didn't see the above posts even though they were right in front of me, sorry! Answer: A lot of them have so many alterations (cabs, mics, mic placement, compression, EQ, effects settings) that it'd be pretty crazy trying to get them in written form, step by step. I'd echo the suggestion to use a flash drive or floppy. Answer: hey, and you might want to save some of the metal tones on your computer (you know, download Line6 Edit at work, put it on the flash drive . . .) then reset the POD to the factory settings (I mean, a lot aren't good, but you'd have some variety instead of metal.)
