Floor POD Plus
Question: I guess it's basically a Floor POD with more settings. Interesting. Now, there is the POD XT, Floor POD, Floor POD Plus, and POD XTL. Quite an arsenal. Answer: Yeah I just saw it on their site. It looks pretty cool and it's cheaper than an XTL, $299 I think I heard. Answer: it's still based on the POD 2.0 i think. i still say just go all the way for an XTL. Answer: I also say go all the way with XTL, just spend 50-100 bucks on 50 more effects, usb, variax input, digital view of the amp tones...I think its a pointless cheaper version of the XTL Answer: I think it's a toy aimed at the beginner market. Smart market move, but veteran players and fans of line 6 will be annoyed. Answer: Not if they don't touch it... They're a company, they make money off these things, more power to 'em. Right on man, plus, you got to realize that some people don't what a million effects and stuff. I mean really, I went through all the stuff a my XTL one day and some of that stuff is pointless, at least for me and my playing. So maybe a more refined version of just the basics is better for some people. Don't get me wrong though, I'm not selling mine by any chance. It's not really a more basic XTL though...it's based on the POD 2.0, which many people would consider a major downgrade from the XT engine. Answer: Yes, the modeling on the XT is akin to the modelling on the Vetta, while the POD 2.0 is more like the modeling on the Spiders. Answer: Oh ok. I didn't know that. I think digitech has the lead over Line 6 in the market for the non-professional player. The new RP's share the same DNA2 chip and some of the same models as the GNX3000 (comparable to the XTL). I A/Bed both and had a hard time telling any difference in sound quality. The GNX3000 does have four chips to the RP's one but I'm not sure if this gives them better sound quality or just allows them to do more. I did notice that one of the preset patches on the GNX3000 had better distortion sounds than the RP but I'm not sure if I could find something similar on the RP if I played around with it. I will be getting my RP250 on Wednesday so I will soon have more quality time to play around with the patches. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
