Ebay, MT-2, CS-2, AC-2, MXR Distortion
Question: http://cgi.ebay.ca/Boss-MT-2-Metal-Z...QQcmdZViewItem (mxr) http://cgi.ebay.ca/MXR-Distortion-Mi...QQcmdZViewItem what do you think? should i go for it? Please give me your opinions on these boxes, and if its a good deal. I think i might go for it. This may sound crazy, but i have never actually played the MT-2 or CS-2. I've read a lot on the MT-2, I think its what i want. Sounds like it can get pretty meaty and crunchy. I have no idea about the CS-2 MXR Distortion i've been looking Randy Rhoads played them, i like his tone, but i'm not sure if i'd use that tone much with my band stuff. I think id be really fun to play around with it, i mean, i'm not a huge fan of fuzz distortion, but if i mixed that with a metal zone. I don't know. What do you think? Answer: I've owned/played all of the pedals in the first ebay link. IMHO, they were all useless. And you dont know what the reserve is yet, so even if the auction ends on $25, you wouldn't win it. I don't think mixing distortion/OD pedals usually goes over very well. Answer: Originally Posted by Casey I've owned/played all of the pedals in the first ebay link. IMHO, they were all useless. Answer: The MT2 is a bit nasal, but if you get it modded it can be a nice pedal. It didn't suit my needs anymore and I recently sold one. Here's an interesting thought though. I actually got my MT2 out before I sold it and played it with the CS2 and it sounded great! I also had it hooked up through a dano fish 'n' chips eq. With the compression and a little bit of eq at your fingertips it turns out to be a pretty nice pedal. I really like my cs2. I kept it even though i got rid of the mt2. The effect is subtle but I like it. It fills out my sound and evens everything out. The accoustic simulator is probably crap. It sounds decent, but i mean, come on...just play an accoustic. -shane Answer: I've never liked the MT-2. But I guess it totally depends on what amp you're playing it through. The CS-2 actually wasn't so bad when I had my traynor YCV 80q. But I tried it when I started using the laney and I can't find one use for it. Modding the Mt-2 may very well be a good idea. Answer: my mxr distortion mixed with my ts9dx can rock your socks off man. just depends on the settings. also both of mine are modded so that could be a reason why. =) Answer: yeh, the stock MT2 is often somewhat nasally. It had a place on my board though. it's not a pedal i would use all the time, but definitely sometimes. it had its own unique sound. never used the others. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
