pedals

Question:
Well I got some pedals already right now and I'm looking into getting some more...

heres what I have, all boss

Tuner
Super Overdrive
Distortion
Tremolo

I use all those except the distortion...not the right sound for me, and it doesn't sound good with my amp not fixed. I'm thinking about getting a DD-6 Delay and maybe Ernie ball jr vp volume pedal. Any suggestions?? I haven't seen any other pedals I really want or if I'm just missing some I don't know. So if you had my setup what would you get? I have a Esp Ltd guitar and Fender special chorus amp.

well, it all depends on what you want and what you need.
if your looking for better tone, especially distortion, the best place to look is a tube amp. it looks like the amp you have is solid state. as far as a pedal that could get you decent distortion with that amp, i don't know. there might be a quick fix, but in general, solid state is not the best place to look for great tone.
as for other pedals, delay and whatnot, it all depends on what you'll use. i rarely use any effect... even reverb. distortion/overdrive & EQ is all i need. which reminds me, an EQ pedal would probably be a nice addition to your pedal set. i've ordered a danelectro EQ for around $30, and all the reviews sound pretty good). i havn't gotten it yet, but i'm looking forward to getting it (along with my new p'ups )
so, hope i helped some... i need to wrap this up,
Tom

Um well thats a popular opion as for me i dislike most amp distortoin (even tubes),Unles its a marshall mode four or whatever, but im not rich so i got overdrive pedal (rat2) wich rocks and im happy. imo you should sell your distortoin for a dd3 or a dd5
Answer:
don't listen to those who say you need tube amps
do yourself a favor a take a look at the Barber Direct Drive
though tube distortion is very nice, you must not cout out great stompbox distortion. there are some BEAUTIFUL boxes out there. you'll just have to find them away from the usual Boss, Digitech, DOD, and Line 6 companies.
Answer:
Actually I like my distortion is pretty good right now with the super overdrive considering the fact the tone on my amp is all messed up. When I get it fixed it should sound a whole lot better, so I'm not really looking at distortion/overdrive right now.
Answer:
a delay would do you really good
after i bought my dd3 the delay has become an integral part of my sound
i like it

Yeah DD-3, DD-6, or Line 6 DL-4 are all good delay pedals.
Answer:
good, but dd3 and dd6 aren't great
there are GREAT delay pedals out there
you'll just have to search for them

What's wrong with the DD-6?? Everyone one else is saying they are good. Tap tempo already makes it a good pedal.
Answer:
well, greatness and goodness is all opinion
but what i think are great pedals are the maxon analog and H&K replex
but that's dropping loads of cash
the T-rex replica is nice as well
Answer:
but whatever, i myself have a dd3 and it's perfectly fine

Tap tempo is good, but not necessarily when its built in. The DD-5 has a seperate tap tempo, so you don't have to hold down the pedal to activate it. Its easier if its seperate, or at least a seperate control, like the Line 6 DL-4. You see what I'm saying? As a side note, has anyone played the new Tap-tremelo by Line 6? It looks sweet...
Answer:
Line 6 DL-4 (Delay)
Electro-Harmonix Smallstone (Phaser)
Danelectro Cool Cat (Chorus)
... that's where I'd start.

After spending hundreds of dollars on effects pedals I went to the Boss ME-50 and never looked back. It has all the effects you'll ever need in a single chasis, single power supply,30 user definable settings, and is easy to operate. It's the best 300 bucks I ever spent. I play it every Sunday...
