Screwing pedals to pedal board?
Question: Hey there, So i've seen a lot of different ways to attach pedals to the board. Velcro, foam, stuff like that. Has anyone ever tried screwing the pedals to the board? i got some really thin pieces of lead and cut two holes. One for the existing screw that holds the pedal together and one that would allow me to screw the pedal to the board. I haven't had a chance to put it all together yet but i'm pretty excited about it. has anyone else tried this? -shane Answer: i've heard of people using bicycle chain to do that. Answer: Yea, That's where I got the idea. There were some guys from Japan selling bicycle chain on ebay (well, they called it Pedal Connector Plus! or something like that...haha). But that's the basic idea. I decided to give it a try. I think i'll actually get to do it tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes. -shane Answer: Ive seen people use screws, but screw it to a piece of wood and screw the pedals on there. Well my pedal board is just a piece of plywood with a couple of 2X4s under it for height. So, yea, I'll make sure to screw it to a piece of wood, haha. -shane Answer: well not the actual pedal lol, u simply get a piece a metal to hold the pedal down and u screw in the piece of metal on both sides to hold down the pedals...there you go. Answer: Before I had many pedals I took the bottom off my TS-7 and put a bolt on the inside so that it came out the bottom, and then ran that through a hole in a board and bolted it tight underneath.....most solid setup I've ever used....but the bicycle chain sounds like a better idea. Answer: I'm thinking about the bike chain. Or perhaps even the bolt idea. I've been using thin sheets of lead and the lead has been tearing. The bolt sounds cool..but you'd have to drill a hole in your pedal right? That doesn't sound so cool. I don't really dig velcro and if I could get a strong enough material the screws would work nicely. -shane Answer: I use velcro, It works for me. Answer: you dont drill a hole into your pedal, you drill holes around your pedal on the plywood so you could put the piece over the pedal and it holds it down...why the heck would i suggest for you to drill a hole in your pedal lol. Thats not me, thats not how I roll! lol.
